CyberQuoll is a key resource for investigating and teaching internet safety. Using computer-based activities, students can discover the good, bad and ugly sides of the internet. CyberQuoll is designed for use with students from the upper primary school levels and teachers are advised to review the resource to determine its suitability for, and relevance to, the particular needs of their students.
In order to actively engage students, so that they will participate in informed debate on the many issues that surface when using the internet, the CyberQuoll resource has been created in two key parts.
Part 1—CyberQuoll computer-based activities that follow our heroes (male or female) as they try valiantly to raise the knowledge of their bratty younger cousins of the internet and how to do great stuff while avoiding the nasties. These animations have been created for primary school students and are also accessible online.
Part 2—Teacher’s Guide and associated information resources (also available in the Library with CD-ROM). This guide comprises comprehensive mapping for each episode of the computer-based activities, using the print-ready student resources. In addition to the activities and teaching resources in this guide are the comprehensive set of certificates and pledges for students and parents in print-ready format. All CyberQuoll print-ready resources are replicated on the website.
